Section one

Who these rules apply to and basics

A few words carry specific meanings here. They are set out plainly rather than defined at length.

“We” and “us”
The entity that operates Menuvanta and is responsible for the service described on this site.
“You”
The person using the site, whether reading a menu, acting for a venue, or getting in touch.
“The service”
Menuvanta itself: the site, the menu entries it holds, and the ways of contacting us that it offers.
“Content”
Text, menu material, images and other material appearing on the service or submitted to it.
“Venue”
A food place whose menu is represented, or proposed for representation, on the service.

Who may use the service

You need the legal capacity to enter into an agreement - which, where you live, will usually mean being old enough to do so and not otherwise restricted from doing it. If the law where you are prohibits use of a service like this one, or prohibits you personally from using it, then it is not available to you.

By using Menuvanta, you represent that you meet those requirements. If you are acting for a venue, you also represent that you are authorised to speak for it.

Section two

What the Site Is For, and What You Agree Not to Do

Use the site lawfully and in a way that fits what it is for: reading menus, and helping the menus held here stay accurate.

In particular, you agree not to:

  • Misrepresent yourself, or claim to speak for a venue you are not authorised to speak for.
  • Interfere with the operation of the site, or attempt to gain access to parts of it that are not open to you.
  • Scrape, harvest or copy substantial portions of the content in ways that breach applicable law or these terms.
  • Send abusive, harassing or deceptive messages through any channel the service provides.
  • Use the service to infringe the rights of others, including the rights of the venues whose menus are represented here.

If these responsibilities are broken, access may be limited or ended, in addition to any other remedies available under the law. That is a last step rather than a first one, but it is available.

Section three

Content, Rights, and What Menuvanta May Use

Different parts of what you see here belong to different people, and it is worth being clear about which is which.

Menuvanta and its licensors own the structure of the site, its branding, and the original content produced for it. Menus and venue information may remain the property of the venues concerned or of other rights holders, subject to the permissions under which that material is shared - carrying a menu here does not transfer ownership of it away from the room that wrote it.

You are granted a limited right to access and use Menuvanta for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these terms. Any copyright or other rights notices attached to material on the site must be respected.

If you submit something

When you send content - a correction, an image, menu text, or anything else - you represent that you have the right to share it with us. You also grant us a licence to use, reproduce, adapt and display that content in connection with operating and improving the service. That licence exists so a correction can actually be applied to an entry; it is not a claim on anything beyond that purpose.

Content that appears to infringe rights, to breach the law, or to conflict with these terms may be removed or modified.

Section four

Disclaimers, Limits, and Your Own Checks

Menuvanta works to present menus accurately and completely. Even so, menus and venue details change, and those changes cannot always be reflected the moment they happen.

Because of that, information on the service is provided as-is and as-available. We do not guarantee that the site will operate without interruption or error, that information will always be complete, current, reliable, or suited to a particular purpose, and we are not responsible for third-party sites or services reached through links from here.

The practical consequence is worth stating plainly: you remain responsible for confirming anything that matters directly with the venue before relying on it. Whether a dish is still on the card today, whether it suits a dietary requirement, whether a price has moved - those are questions for the room, and the room is the only place that can answer them for certain.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, our liability in connection with the service is limited. More detailed limitation language may follow in the full legal text where local requirements call for it, and nothing here is intended to exclude any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Section five

Ending your use and how terms can change

You can stop using Menuvanta at any time, for any reason, including simply disagreeing with what is written on this page. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to close.

From our side, access may be suspended or ended where the service is being misused, where the law requires it, or for operational reasons. Where it is reasonable to explain such a step, it will be explained.

These terms may be updated - when legal requirements change, when the way the service works changes, or when something here turns out to be unclear enough to be worth rewriting. Updated terms are posted on this page, and the date at the top shows when the current version was put up.

Continuing to use Menuvanta after an update is posted means accepting the updated terms. Where a change is significant, it will be signalled in a reasonable way rather than left to be discovered.

Questions about any of this

If a clause on this page is unclear, it is better asked about than guessed at.
